The Danish BalticBeat team from Roskilde University organized the study tour on 17–18 September 2025. The tour introduced participants to five examples of initiatives, ranging from large-scale urban projects to rural eco-villages. The program included visits to Avedøre Green City, Zentropa, EBO Consult, Permatopia, and the Sydstevns Energy Community. Each represents a distinctive model of how energy communities can contribute to climate goals, community development, and democratic participation.
The tour had 53 participants, with national partners from Denmark, Lithuania, Poland, and Sweden. Participants were in fields such as: Local public administration, ‘SMEs and other private companies’, ‘universities and research institutions’, and actors related to energy communities in Denmark.
